{"id":1691,"date":"2015-02-13T16:32:06","date_gmt":"2015-02-13T15:32:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.weirdbutinagoodway.co.uk\/blog\/?p=1691"},"modified":"2015-02-13T16:34:43","modified_gmt":"2015-02-13T15:34:43","slug":"apple-swirls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.weirdbutinagoodway.co.uk\/blog\/2015\/02\/13\/apple-swirls\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Swirls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2 Bramley apples (I use golden delicious instead &#8211; leaves for a smoother puree), peeled, cored and cut into chunks<br \/>\n20g butter<br \/>\n30g caster sugar<br \/>\nGround cinnamon (to taste)<br \/>\n1x 300g Puff Pasty sheet<br \/>\n3 tbsp raisins (I never measure just scatter to taste)<br \/>\n<em id=\"__mceDel\">1 orange, zest and juice (I don&#8217;t use the Orange zest or juice)<br \/>\n<\/em>50g Icing sugar<\/p>\n<p>Place the apples, butter, caster sugar and cinnamon to taste<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>in a small saucepan. Add 1 tbsp water, cover with a lid and place over a low heat. Bring to a simmer and allow to bubble gently for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.<\/p>\n<p>Heat the oven to 200\u00b0C\/180\u00b0C fan\/Gas 6 and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper. Lay out the puff pastry sheet and spread the apple filling over, leaving a 1cm border down each long side. Scatter over the raisins and orange zest then roll it up, from the longer edge, into a cylinder. Cut the roll into 12 discs (I did 18 Kat time) and lay them on the prepared baking tray. Bake for 25 minutes until puffed up and golden.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, combine the icing sugar with \u00be tbsp of orange juice (i use milk instead of juice).
