Phew…its Wednesday and since my last post Friday about having nothing to do, which by the way I did find something to do and didn’t go to bed, I’ve had too much going on that, now, as in right this minute is the first time I’ve really had enough time to sit down relax and update my blog…right I’ll start from the begining last Friday night, after I wrote my last blog…
…Ok got off the computer and recieved a phone call off my sister asking me to meet her at our nans’s, which I did and naturally I “had” to take some lager with me, so me and my little sis’ sat in my grandparents living room and proceeded to finish all those off and start on my Nans wine taking the piss outta my Mom (who was also there) and of course my Nan.
On the way home I bumped into some friends of mine, who were just heading into the local DIVE for a quick drink and Karaoke so now you know how much I’d really had to drink because I ended up singing and I NEVER sing in public!!!
Saturday was like something out of the twilight zone to start with, with me running around like a headless chicken!!
Woke up around 10 not feeling to bad… despite mixing my wine with lager the night before…and decided to lie in bed watching telly for a bit before I dragged myself outta bed to meet Steve for lunch, well at least that was the plan!
10:20 the phone rings, its my mom in a complete panic, Sam (her dog) had collapse on the living room floor and she cant move him and he’s completly lost the ability to move himself. So my first response is have you rang the vet, she’s like “NO its Saturday where can I go?”, Oh dear I think, but what I say is “Right stay there I’ll be round in 2mins” So I dives up the stairs two at a time gets dressed at the same time as leafing through the yellow pages and using my mobile to call vets and as neither of us drive calling my Grandad to get up here in the car.
So I gets round to my mom’s in record time, my grandads already there and i’m like right get him into the car I know where were going. So it takes three of us to get him into the car…(I should have mentioned before he ain’t no small dog…Doberman cross!!)..and off we go, breaking every law of the road to get into Wolverhampton town centre.
I’d called ahead to say we were on our way, so when I got there I dived into the reception, leaving everyone in the car, to register him in and fetch someone with a stretcher to help us get him inside! Anyway I get back to the car and go to tell my mom everythings being sorted and someone will be along shortly but there she is in the back seat, gasping for breathe and looking decidedly pale..she’s having an asthma attack bought on by all the anxiety and rushing around, AND she’s forgotten her inhaler, so here I come to the rescue again, out comes the mobile to ring work the other side of town, where I know my assistant manager will be with an inhaler as she has asthma too. Linford Christie style I take off down the road to do the minute mile to pick it up!
When I get back to the vets Sam (and my Mom) are in the surgery so I dives through the offices to get the inhaler to my mom and I don’t know who’s more relieved to see me, my mom or the vet. The look on her face said it all, she was obviously used to dealing with sick animals but hadn’t got a clue when it came to humans!!
So after we’d calmed everyone down (including myself as by the time I got back I’m not sure who need the medication more, me or my mom) It was time to sort the dog out…I’m not gonna go into detail as the next 20 mins were not nice, the dog had a tumor and needed to be put to sleep, my mom was distraught and I was in tears, we’d had the dog 13 years so it wasn’t like it wasn’t expected but it was still hard to deal with.
Anyway after I’d paid the vet and got my mon back into the car I had to then hotfoot it back across town to return my managers inhaler to her. Came back out of the store and finally had time to breathe… It was like WOAH…only 45 minutes had passed since I first got the phone call off my mom and I couldn’t believe how much had happened, I went round to the Royal London knocked back a double Jack Daniels and Coke and rang Steve to apologise for standing him up…luckily he’d been called into work anyway so all was ok.
Caught the bus home and recieved a phone call off Sharon finding out what I was up to as we were due to go out that night and she wanted to shop for new shoes…the £££ signs flashed before me and I thought RETAIL THERAPY, called into my mom’s witha bottle of brandy for her and to check everything was ok, then up to Walsall to SHOP SHOP SHOP!
Bought an amazing outfit, had some lunch, went home, showered etc and went back to Walsall for what can only be described as a TOP night out in this little “rock” bar in the town centre! Ended the night dancing with strangers in KFC!!
ERM had a brilliant day sunday but as I just noticed the time and i gotta get my lil’ un to football in 20 mins I’ll blog about it later! xx
